Day 3 (Recap) – Finally, Lexington!
We departed Atlanta early morning. The devotional was brought by Joey. He touched on Jeremiah 1:5. We arrived at Faith Worship Center in Lexington, around 11am. Following a short tour of the church and meeting Bishop Kyle, we began unloading the trailer and setting up the instruments.
Chosen Generation began sorting the donated clothing by gender and age group. They were placed in boxes ready for distribution. Sister Joyce, from Faith Worship Center, directed the youth to store the donated canned goods and non-perishable items in the pantry. Many families will benefit from this ministry!
Unloading lumber was another task of the day, in preparation for the pending duty of building the gazebo. Everyone worked as a team and the job was done in record time! After checking in at the hotel, we were off to eat at “The Varsity”! We were greeted with their famous welcome line…”What’ll ya have, what’ll ya have??” We all put our paper ‘Varsity’ hats on and enjoyed the delicious chili dogs, burgers and fries! Off to the hotel to clean up and get ready for service.
The evening service was incredible. It was like being at our home church. The message was a powerful one and by the time of the altar call, everyone in the sanctuary answered the call. We enjoyed some cake and ice cream after the service and new friends were made. Headed back to the hotel late in the evening for some much needed rest…ready to begin a new day of service!

Our journey to Georgia began at 3am. Before heading out, we prayed for traveling mercies and for God to use us as vehicles for His Glory. We started our trip sleepy and tired but in great spirit. As a matter of fact, Ernie and Ellie ate cheeseburgers for breakfast, right before heading out. Luckily, they did not regret it.
Around 10:55am we reached Georgia. Upon crossing the border, we started with the devotional for the day. Each Youth member has a day assigned to provide a devotional. The devotional was given by Ricky Jr. His devotional dealt with “Expectancy”. Everyone shared and commented on the spirit of expectation. We are believing for the Lord to do mighty things in the lives of everyone in Lexington as well as for Chosen Generation!
Around six in the evening, we went to have dinner. Tired and hungry, we could not wait any more and decided to go to Wendy’s. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the evening working on the devotionals, talking and preparing for tomorrow.
Well we finally on our way. All the preparation and fundraisers have paid off. Yesterday after the service, we packed the van and the trailer. We are all very excited for what the Lord is going to do. We have expecting hearts because we know the Lord is going to move us in a mighty way!
Additionally, we celebrate Ricky’s Jr. belated birthday. We had a good time and ate cake provided by Hilda. Fortunately, we manage to have a good time before the weather deteriorated. This event did not damper our spirits and we are road ready.
