We Have Returned!

Chosen Generation Youth Group has returned from the Georgia Missions Trip! We are all tired, but very excited about the wonderful things the Lord did during the long awaited trip. We were blessed by the Southern Hospitality that everyone at Faith Worship Center in Lexington, GA showed us. The youth got to work as soon as we arrived. Some began to unload the trailer, while others sorted the donated clothes by age and gender group.

The men worked on the pavilion and the ladies brushed up on their painting inside the fellowship hall. Everyone worked as a team and the task was accomplished in record timing! We took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the grand opening of a Mexican restaurant owned by a brother in the church. We also participated in a community fair where the children of the church took part in.

Chosen Generation passed out flyers and witnessed to those at the fair. A Pastor from a nearby church was so impressed with the actions of our youth, that he invited them to return for a Back to School Explosion concert next year with Hook Square as their guest! We visited the Dairy Farm and were able to tour the grounds and speak to one of the families that work there. The entire process was explained as the youth listened intently and asked questions. This was certainly a memorable experience for them.

The Youth Concert!

Hook Square had its first concert in Georgia on Friday night! They rocked the house! Each person, regardless of age, enjoyed the music. The band members allowed the Spirit of the Lord to lead and in the middle of the concert, there was an altar call. Many came up and were ministered to. Ricky Jr. gave a powerful message afterwards, and again, the church body rushed to the altar for prayer. Truly, it was a site to see how our young adults were being used to minister.

The Services!

Wow! Our God is incredible! Words cannot describe the magnitude of the One we serve!! Each service was filled with the presence of the Almighty! Lives were touched and changed as people came up to the altar every night for prayer. Sunday night was especially powerful! The power of the Holy Spirit fell just like in Pentecost and our entire youth group was filled with the Spirit of God! It was a sight to see.

Revival broke out in a supernatural way as all of the voices in the sanctuary worshiped in one mind and in one accord! It was such a beautiful sound! Chosen Generation will never be the same!

Thank You!

We want to thank each and every one of you that supported this trip with your financial support, prayers, fasting and encouragement. The clothes, canned food, and gift cards were put to good use in the much needed areas of Lexington. The hand of God moved mightily! This could not have been done without you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Combined Service This Sunday

A reminder that this coming Sunday, August 2nd is our combined service at 11:00am. Our Youth Sunday School, Ignite, and adult Sunday School, is at 10:00am.

Day 3 (Recap) – Finally, Lexington!

We departed Atlanta early morning. The devotional was brought by Joey. He touched on Jeremiah 1:5. We arrived at Faith Worship Center in Lexington, around 11am. Following a short tour of the church and meeting Bishop Kyle, we began unloading the trailer and setting up the instruments.

Chosen Generation began sorting the donated clothing by gender and age group. They were placed in boxes ready for distribution. Sister Joyce, from Faith Worship Center, directed the youth to store the donated canned goods and non-perishable items in the pantry. Many families will benefit from this ministry!

Unloading lumber was another task of the day, in preparation for the pending duty of building the gazebo. Everyone worked as a team and the job was done in record time! After checking in at the hotel, we were off to eat at “The Varsity”! We were greeted with their famous welcome line…”What’ll ya have, what’ll ya have??” We all put our paper ‘Varsity’ hats on and enjoyed the delicious chili dogs, burgers and fries! Off to the hotel to clean up and get ready for service.

The evening service was incredible. It was like being at our home church. The message was a powerful one and by the time of the altar call, everyone in the sanctuary answered the call. We enjoyed some cake and ice cream after the service and new friends were made. Headed back to the hotel late in the evening for some much needed rest…ready to begin a new day of service!

Day 1 (Recap) – Welcome to Georgia!

day1frame1Our journey to Georgia began at 3am. Before heading out, we prayed for traveling mercies and for God to use us as vehicles for His Glory. We started our trip sleepy and tired but in great spirit. As a matter of fact, Ernie and Ellie ate cheeseburgers for breakfast, right before heading out. Luckily, they did not regret it.

By seven in the morning, we were in Orlando. Because we were so early on the road, traffic was minimal and we were able to make good headway. Everyone dozed in and out during our trip. We had a great time of fellowship, singing songs, playing games, etc.

THE PEACH STATE

day1frame2Around 10:55am we reached Georgia. Upon crossing the border, we started with the devotional for the day. Each Youth member has a day assigned to provide a devotional. The devotional was given by Ricky Jr. His devotional dealt with “Expectancy”. Everyone shared and commented on the spirit of expectation. We are believing for the Lord to do mighty things in the lives of everyone in Lexington as well as for Chosen Generation!

At three in the afternoon and after 12 hours on the road, we have arrived at the hotel. Our accommodations were nice and comfortable. We all settled in. Because it was still early in the day, we took the opportunity to go to the pool. The weather was nice and breezy. For some, the pool was too cold to jump in and for others it was not so bad. We spent a few hours swimming, resting, bathing in the sun and singing.

WINDING DOWN

day1frame3Around six in the evening, we went to have dinner. Tired and hungry, we could not wait any more and decided to go to Wendy’s. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the evening working on the devotionals, talking and preparing for tomorrow.

As for tomorrow, we will recap our trip to Six Flags. As always, you know you can stay up to date and in real time via Twitter.

Lastly, We want to thank everyone that took a minute of your time to communicate with us. Hilda, Randy, Lourdes, and Nancy…THANK YOU. All of your messages were shared with the group and they ALL appreciate your support.
